B/R: Pupils Study Under Trees, Learn On Bare Floor

Temporal structures housing Kindergarten (KG) and Primary Pupils numbering Two hundred and eighty eight (288) at Bepotirim M/ A Basic School in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region have been collapsed.

The above situation has compelled the students to learn under trees around the school leaving them at the mercy of the bad weather especially this rainy season .

In this regard the, Headmaster of the above mentioned school, the Executives of the School Management Committee (SMC) and the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) are calling on the government,NGOs, and philanthropists to come to their aid in putting up a complete nine (9) units decent classroom block.

Meanwhile the school is also lacking furniture for both pupils and teachers.

This situation has also affects academic work in the school as pupils lay on their belly to write during teaching and learning process.

Letter cited from the , Headmaster of the School under the authority of SMC and PTA Executives copied to the Wenchi Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service reads as follows,

As the Headmaster of the above mentioned school, I humbly write to you under the authority of SMC and PTA Executives to draw your attention about the collapsed of Bepotirim M/Basic School temporal structures housing Kindergarten (KG) and primary pupils numbering Two hundred and eighty eight (288) on 24th May,2020.

The above situation has forced pupils to learn under trees around the school leaving them in the mercy of the bad weather especially this rainy season. In this regard the community is financially handicapped and therefore appealed to your high office through Municipal Assembly in putting up a complete six (6) units decent classroom block for the community.

Letter cited from the Headmaster, by Radio West Africa continue to read that, another problem facing the school is lack of furniture for both pupils and teachers. This situation has militated against academic work in the school as pupils lie down on stomach to write during teaching and learning process.

A follow up to the Wenchi Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service by Radio West Africa, Nana Anfreh Damanta revealed that the office have received the letter and forwarded it to the office of the Wenchi Municipal Assembly for a quick intervention.

An attempt to reach the Assembly Member for the area has yielded unfruitful.
